Christmas

Well, here we are just a few days from Christmas and I am enjoying time with my extended family... in a couple of days I will be going with my girl to Calgary to see my family. I just spent the past 5 days with Jess's family and had a wonderful time :) They have been so gracious and have made me feel very welcome. I stayed with Jess at their cabin in Carleton Place and it was a nice feeling being away from the big city for a while. I have never lived in the country, but I can see its appeal for the people that do.

I always enjoy this time of year, the celebration of life and the gathering of good friends always makes me happy. I am sentimental at heart and enjoy the whole ritual of Christmas, the tree, the lights and the music. I am not a religious person, but I am a spiritual one. And I have been lucky to have had a great Christmas pretty well every year of my life. It all started when I was 3 or 4 and we would spend Christmas at my grandparents, they threw an amazing traditional Christmas and hosted an evening that was memorable for everyone involved. The thing I remember most is the laughter and love, the house was filled with both.

This is going to be a very special Christmas, Jess and I will be celebrating in Calgary with my family, and this will be the first time she will be meeting my family.
Everyone is excited to meet her.

Life is good, and 2010 is going to be a magical year filled with New ideas and adventures.

Merry Christmas to you and have a Happy and Prosperous New Year!

sincerely,

The Salon Automaton...

WOW!

I just got back from an Amazing show called 'The Salon Automaton' at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre.
What an amazing performance! It was a mix of performance art and robots... yes, you heard me correct, ROBOTS! It was a one person show, starring Nathalie Claude and the ONLY other things on stage was 19th Century looking Automaton's! Three to be precise.

What got my juices flowing was the fact that I was watching a female version of me on stage.
She was crazy, witty and very strange. The automaton's were a real delight to watch also.

I have been working on a few automatons myself over the past 17 years and I am working on integrating a robotic version of Boris- my Nosferatu stage manager, into my show. I have all of the components, I just need to sit down and program what I want him to do and say. The show tonight was truly inspirational.

It is not often I go to theatre and leave inspired.

If I can find the time.... I will try and incorporate Boris into my upcoming 2010 Winter Tour.

The Convention!

What a surprising and delightful day!
I just spent the past 7 hours at a convention promoting Eisengrimm's... and it was a real hoot!

The networking and business connections that were made will prove to be rather fruitful over the next few months. I am already preparing to follow up with at least 15 different interested companies that could use my services in one way or other.

I will be honest, this was my first time doing a meet and greet, but I felt fairly relaxed early in the day and the feedback was wonderful. Now comes the REAL work, making the network connections a useful resource and putting my plan into action.

I am having a great time right now and the learning curve is huge... but so worth it!

As a side note I think that I am slowly forging some alliances that will be fun and beneficial,  I met many wonderful people tonight.

I am pretty tired now and need some well deserved rest.

I will sleep like the dead tonight  :)

The start of a NEW Era in the World of Eisengrimm

As we enter the 10th year in the New Millennium I bid lofty salutations to lovers of the Supernatural and Bizarre!

For the first time in a long while, I have decided to write about my adventures  and thoughts on sundry subjects such as what the hell motivates me and the meaning of life. The past 41 years in the world of entertainment has been both colorful and chaotic to say the least, and I have learnt some hard lessons along the way.

I have spent most of my life creating and producing shows that deal in alternate Victorian realities and I have never become tired musing over things based on the Bizarre and Unexplainable.

This here is to become my place of thought and invention... your place to take a seat and ponder some of my more personal anecdotes. I will speak in utmost candor of everything that piques my interest... good or bad.

Let me pour you a glass of Port and welcome you to my strange little world.
Please remove your hat and cloak and stay a while....
